There will be a talk about the ‘One Law for All’ campaign against the adoption of Sharia Law in the UK which will be presented by the noted rights activist Maryam Namazie.

*ahem* Sorry about the headline, it came to me in a dream Moving swiftly on… The self-styled “religion of peace” again demonstrates otherwise in yet another sad and violent episode brought about because someone’s feelings were hurt. I don’t mean handling as in grabbing them by the scruff of the neck and holding their head in a bucket of water until they understand how science works, much as it might seem necessary with some creationists. Instead I mean handling creationists you may be related to with or know closely and who may not have given [...] [...] I don’t know who Nell McCafferty is but she certainly has her head screwed on properly. I wonder if they will ever come to their senses and actually become that which their “saviour” wanted : men of humility. This is part 1 of an excellent 5 part video from the Intelligence Squared Debate with Christopher Hitchens and Stephen Fry debating Archbishop John Onaiyekan and Anne Widdencombe MP on the topic “Is the Catholic church a force for good in the world?” I don’t suppose there’s any hope for these people when they seem so hell-bent on denying the reality that slaps the people of Africa in the face every day.
