Could I have your attention for a minute, please?
Having recently had a good, solid first social meeting ( aka Skeptics of the Round Table) I have been told the current schedule of holding this meeting on the second Wednesday of each month is overlapping with the Space Lectures over at Intech.
Here are two simple questions:
- Are there any of you out there who go to the Space Lectures regularly and who would like to join us for the Round Table afterwards (the Space Lectures finish at 8:00 pm) but cannot for one reason or another?
If so, what can we do to help you make it to both events? - Is there a preference to move the Round Table to a different day of the week?
(I definitely want to stick with the second week of the month as that places the Round Table meetings nicely in between our meetings with speakers in the Discovery Center.)
Your input is highly valued, so thanks for letting us know what you think in the comments section below.

Not the second Thursday, as that’s Portsmouth SitP.
Noted, thanks.
I was going to suggest second Thursday, as I’m not usually available on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday evenings.
Whatever day of the week you pick you’re sure to disappoint somebody, so why not be less regular? Then everyone has a chance of attending at least some of the time.
Any day ‘cept Thursday, pls!
You know what, I had not even considered this option yet … Food for thought, thanks.
Thanks for asking this – it was me asking about this after the last SITDiscovery Centre.
Q1. I go the Space Lectures and get a lift there with someone who would very probably not come to the later event. I *may* be able to get a lift to the SOTR, but if someone was already going, that would mean I didn’t have to ask my lift to go out of their way.
Q2. I think the day and frequency are fine – if you are happy to commit to being the main person there every month I think that opens it up for more people who could maybe go once in a blue moon. If frequency was reduced, there’s be fewer chances. I’d love to come along and do plan to. See you there I hope!
